Did you know that St. Patrick’s Day actually started out as a religious holiday? Overtime, it has become a celebration of the Irish culture! Since around the ninth or 10th century, people in Ireland have been observing the Roman Catholic feast day of St. Patrick on March 17. The first St. Patrick’s Day parade took place not in Ireland but in America! Best part of the day? It’s acceptable to drink green beer. Not only that, but there are specific foods this holiday is known for! These include - Cabbage, Colcannon, Irish Soda Bread, Shepherd's Pie and Corned Beef. Sounds like quite the feast, doesn’t it?!
